‍ ‍A Twisted Vines Vineyard wedding is about more than where you get married. As the owner of Twisted Vines Vineyard, a wedding venue in Clinton, North Carolina, I get to watch couples begin one of the biggest chapters of their lives, and I also get to see the moments most guests never notice. Lydia and Evan's wedding on August 1, 2026, was one of those days that reminded me why we built this place.

Before anyone arrived, I came over early to open the venue and get everything ready. The first thing I noticed was the sky. The clouds stretched upward in a way that reminded me of fireworks. The birds were singing, and the vineyard vines were gently blowing in the breeze. It was one of those peaceful mornings where you just knew it was going to be an amazing day.

Getting Ready in the Bridal Suite

Around 8:00 that morning, Lydia arrived with her bridal party, her mom, Evan's mom, and the coordinators. Before long, our bridal suite was full of laughter, conversation, curling irons, makeup brushes, and excitement. The bridal suite doors stayed closed most of the day, and all you heard were giggles coming from inside.

That's exactly what we hoped for when we designed the bridal suite. We wanted brides to have plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy getting ready instead of feeling crowded. Lydia had her mom's wedding gown made into a dressing gown. It was gorgeous and such a special idea.

Later in the afternoon, the guys arrived and settled into the Groom's Den. One thing that tickled me was watching Evan's mom double-tie every one of the groomsmen's shoes before they headed out for pictures. It's such a small detail, but those are the moments that stick with me.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Twisted Vines Vineyard

Lydia and Evan chose to have a 6:00 p.m. ceremony, and I honestly love that timeline for a summer wedding in North Carolina.

It gives everyone time to get ready without rushing through the day. Hair and makeup can be enjoyed instead of hurried. The wedding party has time for photographs, and guests aren't sitting outside during the hottest part of the afternoon. By early evening, the vineyard has a different feel. Everything seems to slow down, and the sunset across the vines is beautiful.

Their ceremony took place in front of our antique 1800s wooden doors and cross, decorated with soft pink and green florals.

One of my favorite memories happened just before the ceremony. Since they had already shared a First Look, everyone was lined up inside waiting to walk out. Lydia came down the stairs from the bridal suite, Evan turned around, saw her, ran over, gave her one last kiss as his fiancée, smiled from ear to ear, and hurried back into place before the ceremony began.

Their ceremony reflected their faith from beginning to end and was led by Lydia's childhood pastor. They celebrated communion together, and Lydia's brothers sang Goodness of God while playing guitar.

Knowing everything Evan had overcome made the day even more meaningful. He is a cancer survivor who had recently graduated with his engineering degree, accepted his first engineering job in Raleigh, moved into a new apartment, and got married, all within the same season.

As they walked back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs., the photographer captured the perfect photo from our balcony with every guest gathered below. We actually built that balcony with pictures like this in mind. Years from now, that photograph won't just remind Lydia and Evan what their wedding looked like. It'll remind them exactly who stood beside them as they started their marriage.

Cocktail Hour Around the Courtyard

After the ceremony, guests gathered around the courtyard fountains for cocktail hour. Lydia and Evan took a few more photos, branded a vineyard post, one of the unique traditions we offer at Twisted Vines Vineyard, and then headed to the pond for sunset portraits.

Because they had already done a First Look earlier in the day, they weren't pulled away for most of cocktail hour. They were able to laugh, hug people, and truly enjoy celebrating with their family and friends.

Elegant Twisted Vines Vineyard Wedding Reception

Guests were welcomed into our air-conditioned reception hall where the pink and green details continued throughout the room. Their décor was timeless and elegantly planned.

This Twisted Vines Vineyard wedding reminded me that what people remember most is how the day felt. We work hard behind the scenes before, during, and after every wedding so our couples and their guests are comfortable. When everything is flowing smoothly, couples can simply be present with the people they love.

One moment I'll always remember was Evan dancing with his mom. During their dance, she lifted her hands toward Heaven in praise. After everything their family had walked through, you didn't need words to understand what that moment meant.

A Sparkler Exit and a Drive to Raleigh

As the evening came to a close, guests lined the courtyard with sparklers while Lydia and Evan walked beneath the lights surrounding our fountains before climbing into Evan's restored antique black Mustang. It was the perfect ending for a groom who loves classic cars. They headed home to their apartment in Raleigh, North Carolina, before leaving for their honeymoon on Monday.

I don't think either the bride or groom stopped smiling the entire day. As Lydia hugged me goodbye that evening, she laughed and said her cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. I couldn't think of a better way to end such a wonderful day.

Wedding Vendors

They had an incredible team of vendors who helped bring their wedding day together. Photographer Katelyn Kirby captured every part of the day beautifully, and her sneak peeks arrived so quickly . Amy Dabbs created the beautiful pink and green florals. DJ Nick Pope kept the dance floor full all evening, while Pro Fish Media documented every special moment on video. Hannah Faith Creations painted the celebration live, creating a keepsake the couple will treasure for years to come. CandidsbySav worked her content creator magic, capturing behind-the-scenes moments and sharing memories on social media. Brittany King and Peyton Seals had everyone looking their best with hair and makeup, and Flash Barbecue served a delicious meal followed by cakes, cheesecake, banana pudding, and plenty of other sweet treats. Yum!
